I have had 22 years in the volunteer world , allowing me to work with and observe youth and adults, and how they evolve, react, in different situations and environments. It was amazing what life lessons I learned or got to experience during this time.
In 2005 I had the honour in being included in my friend Deb's last week on this physical plain. This is when I learned that she had already been experiencing energy work. In January 2006 my learning curve started with taking Reiki & IET classes from Sharlene McLearon. As I know now, as a direct association with Deb, there was some other people who knew Deb and who decided the same as I. There was something here I needed to investigate and learn .
In 2007 my Dad had the shingles rash show up around his neck, my brother and I worked daily for the next 14 days to keep it from advancing with much success. In 2008 my Dad's prostate/bone cancer had advanced and it was my distinct honour to help him prepare to leave this physical plain. When he was experiencing moments of extreme upset. By simply holding his hands and grounding him to mother earth's calm energy he would settle.
In August 2008, I had a life journey session with Allan Green, my life has become more exciting with meditations , "being mindful" of all that is presented visually as well as being aware how I felt and what smells (if any) were present.
During the summer of 2008 I was drawn to the experience of sweat lodges. I started by attending Heron Walk. and in September was able to experience a native sweat. Each have ceremonial similarities, and differences .
The next part of my life journey , I met Tammy Butler who is a truly blessed individual. She has been a wonderful resource for experiencing a native sweat lodge (mentioned above), drumming workshops complete with teachings and meditations. She has truly been helpful by providing a WONDERFUL, SAFE environment for meditations. This has been nothing short of amazing.
Over the past 6 years , I have observed , I have learned about alzheimer disease , and how it affected my Mom. I was blessed to be able to help her along the way, learning how certain days affected her more than others, working with her strengths, and some limitations, up until the day she passed on, February 12th,2010 at her home.
Before my Mother passed away , I decided to enroll in the Personal Support Worker program at G.A. Wheable School, and completed the program and receiving my certificate of completion January 2011. I have worked independently and with a company.
